    Daily average of cases is now above 9500. Which is a 950% increase over June 05, 2020. In the meanwhile, daily testing went up by 218% while positivity increased up 434% (to 19.27%).

    Yet, DeSantis won't make masks mandatory.

  • Day 122: Florida reports 200,000 cases (Total Cases: 200,111 & Fatalities: 3,832)

    It took 109 days to reach 100,000 cases but, it took only 13 days to add another 100,000 to reach 200,000. That is how exponential growth happens when a disease is left unmitigated.

    Daily average of cases is now above 8500. Which is a 871% increase over June 05, 2020. In the meanwhile, daily testing increased by 200% and the positivity by 425% (to 18.7%).

    Still, DeSantis won't make masks mandatory.

  • Day 109: Florida reports 100,000 cases (Total Cases: 100,217 & Fatalities: 3,266)

    Daily average of cases is now above 3300. Which is a 335% increase over June 05, 2020. In the meanwhile, daily testing went up by measly 13% while positivity increased up 292% (to 12.96%).

    Yet, DeSantis won't make masks mandatory.

    Total number of cases is now 100,217 and fatalities stand at 3,266

  • Day 91: Phase 2 Reopening (Total Cases: 60,183 & Fatalities: 2,691)

    Avg Daily Cases are now up to 985 from 724 on May 21, 2020. Increase of 36% over May 21 tirade. This is also an increase of 51% over phase 1 reopening. Fatalities are down 13% to 35 per day. Testing is down 13% from May 21st and positivity % back up to 4.44%.

    Yet, DeSantis went ahead with phase 2 anyways because fatalities were past peak. Either he doesn't get what a lagging indicator means or willfully ignored it to please the WH.

  • Day 76: DeSantis goes on a bizarre tirade while cases go up slightly (11%) (Total Cases: 47,471 & Fatalities: 2,173)

    He blames the media for not giving him enough credit for not letting Florida become New York.

    In the meanwhile the 7 day rolling average of new cases have gone up from 650 to 724 i.e. low 11.3% increase. Avg Fatalities slightly down to 40 per day (10% decrease). The positivity has almost halved at 2.87% and the state is testing twice as many people than May 04th.

    Total number of cases 47,471 and fatalities 2,173.

  • Day 60: Florida Reopens as per Phase I (Total Cases: 36,897 & Fatalities: 1,423) ...

    Daily avg cases are now 650 and fatalities are 44. Cases are down 50% from the peak in mid April. Fatalities still going up. Positivity at 5.44% and almost 12,000 tests were conducted. No hospitalization data was provided.

    Total number of cases ~37,000 and fatalities 1,423.
